Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pajanen misses with an uppercut
and Kurze counters with a nice body shot.

A low kick from Pajanen is predictable there
and Kurze counters with a nice uppercut.
Nice straight punches there by Pajanen. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Pajanen.
Pajanen cracks Kurze with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Pajanen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pajanen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kurze manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Some bone on bone action there as Kurze checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Kurze stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pajanen.
Kurze fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Pajanen on the side of the head.
Pajanen looks to score with a jab to the body but Kurze is just out of range.
Pajanen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Pajanen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kurze counters with a right hand to the body.
Kurze is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Kurze ducks under a wild hook from Pajanen.
Pajanen throws out a leg kick but Kurze moves out of range and Pajanen only half commits.

Kurze scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Kurze is looking to take a break and control but Pajanen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pajanen is trying to work for a sweep but Kurze has mounted him!

Kurze stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kurze wants it to stay on the feet.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Kurze. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

and Kurze counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Kurze counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Pajanen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

Kurze moves out of range as Pajanen strikes.
Kurze clobbers Pajanen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Pajanen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kurze pinned against the cage. Kurze gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Pajanen will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Pajanen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kurze's head backwards.

and Kurze makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Pajanen feints and as Kurze raises his hands in defense, Pajanen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kurze looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Pajanen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kurze has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Pajanen doesn't defend quickly enough and Kurze has managed to lock this one up! Can Pajanen escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kurze on a fantastic submission victory.
