Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owen Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wood has chosen True Love Clubstar's True Club Mix - Jun as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nathan Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Owen Wood! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and James Glass.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Wood finishes the takedown easily into guard. Smith might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Wood is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wood gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wood thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Wood trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Wood wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wood wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position. Smith keeping moving, preventing Wood from controlling successfully.
Smith has an active guard here but Wood has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wood content to control rather than advance.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Smith works his way to full guard. Good work.
Smith throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Wood escapes and throws Smith's legs to the side, diving into side control! Wood tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Wood working away.
Wood is trying to get an arm triangle but Smith is defending well.
Wood swings around for an armbar but Smith sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Wood's guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Wood looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Smith forces his way into half guard. Wood is refusing to be controlled, as Smith sits in half guard. Wood is trying to stand.
Wood makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wood. Smith being controlled here momentarily. Smith trying to control but Wood is working from the bottom. Smith looking to pass the guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wood is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Smith trying to control here.
Smith looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Smith is not content to let Wood control the position. Wood might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Smith kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Wood is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Wood eventually gives up the hold. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wood in particular looking to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smith is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Smith is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Wood couldn't care less - he's delighted!
