The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tayona shoots for a double leg takedown but Gallagher sprawls well. He's pushed Tayona's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gallagher tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tayona was well out of range. Poor timing from Gallagher.
Tayona shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gallagher as he jumps to the side.
Gallagher misses with a takedown attempt
and Tayona counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Tayona throws a jab but it's blocked by Gallagher.
Gallagher shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tayona but Tayona pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tayona doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gallagher counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like L Rhoe Tayona has been cut.

Gallagher uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tayona.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gallagher lands a big elbow - Tayona is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Gallagher!
