Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luis Costa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Primon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rafael Primon told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Primon shoots in and bounces Costa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Costa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Primon is aware though and is defending well.
Primon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Costa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Primon defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Costa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Primon is aware though and is defending well.
Costa is trying to control the position but Primon postures up.
Costa working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Primon has passed into half guard!
Primon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Costa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Primon gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Primon pushes Costa up against the cage in a clinch.
Primon manages to break the clinch.
Primon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Primon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rafael Primon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Primon steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Costa. That one must have hurt.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Costa doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Primon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Costa's guard.
Costa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Costa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Primon defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Costa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Primon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Costa is just content to waste time from the top position. Primon takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Costa is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Primon is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
