Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suave fails with the takedown
and Green connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Green closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Green lands in his opponent's guard.

Green tries to free his leg and advance position but Suave is retaining full guard.

Green drops back, looking for a kneebar! Suave looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Suave looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Suave!

Green tries to buck Suave off but Suave is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Suave has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Green throws a series of punches but Suave avoids them all with ease.

Suave controls Green momentarily but Green frees himself.
Green makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Suave has his foot on Green 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Green works his way back into a safe position though.

Green looking to sit in guard and control but Suave gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Green seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Leo Green hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Suave shoots in for a takedown but Green shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Green rushes Suave and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Green successfully pulls guard.
Green is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Suave wants to improve his position but Green is controlling well.
Green thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Suave's head.
Green is keen to just control but Suave is a slippery customer.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Suave working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Green .
Suave bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Green 's guard.
Suave is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Green tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Suave loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Leo Green has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
