PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Sillva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Van Wissil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anderson Sillva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Van Wissil!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Sillva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Van Wissil gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Van Wissil has Sillva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sillva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Van Wissil drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sillva gets the underhooks and prevents it.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Van Wissil wants the takedown. Sillva is fighting it off but Van Wissil persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Sillva's guard against the cage.
Van Wissil seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Let's hope that Van Wissil has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
