Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Graham Goddard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Jimenez!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jimenez thows a body shot but no joy.
Goddard shoots in but no luck this time.
Jimenez looks to land a left hand but Goddard moved out of range nicely.
Jimenez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Good leg kick by Goddard there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Goddard just misses with a punch to the body.
Goddard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A head kick by Goddard misses
and Jimenez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Graham Goddard has been cut.
Jimenez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Goddard staying out of range there.
A head kick misses from Goddard.
Graham Goddard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jimenez misses the shot to the body.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Goddard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Graham Goddard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Goddard fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Goddard misses with a head kick.

Goddard decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Goddard content to control rather than advance.
Goddard seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jimenez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Goddard looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jimenez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Goddard wants to pass the guard but Jimenez is defending well.
Jimenez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goddard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Goddard stops Jimenez from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Goddard looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Jimenez is staying active underneath Goddard, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Goddard wants to pass to mount but Jimenez is defending the position.
Jimenez wants to get back to his feet.
Goddard trying to control from half guard but Jimenez is working away.
Jimenez scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Goddard manages to mount him!

Goddard is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jimenez has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Jimenez squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Goddard wants to control the pace but Jimenez is squirming around nicely.
Jimenez is trying to stand.
Goddard trying to control but Jimenez is having none of it.
Jimenez trying desperately to get to his feet.

Goddard working the ground and pound effectively.

Goddard is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Jimenez is forced to tap! Great finish!
