Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keijo Sardiini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sardiini's entrance music is We Are The Kings. A fine choice. St Pierre comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm Reading a Book kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keijo Sardiini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jorge St Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sardiini misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sardiini throws an overhand right that lands on St Pierre's shoulder, as St Pierre tries to avoid the shot.
Sardiini throws a combination but it was largely blocked by St Pierre.
Keijo Sardiini seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sardiini takes a swing at St Pierre's ribcage but misses.
Sardiini thuds his right hand into St Pierre's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sardiini is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by St Pierre.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

St Pierre is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sardiini is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sardiini has escaped and now he's on top!

Sardiini is looking to work some ground and pound but St Pierre has wrist control.

Sardiini creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
St Pierre takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
St Pierre is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sardiini connects with a decent elbow.
St Pierre is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

St Pierre is trying to work for a sweep but Sardiini has mounted him!

St Pierre tries to reverse the position but Sardiini maintains control.
Sardiini takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sardiini is going oldschool here, as he tries to force St Pierre to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so St Pierre shrugs it off.

St Pierre avoids the head kick by Sardiini.

St Pierre shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Sardiini tries to get back to half guard but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

St Pierre jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sardiini is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sardiini and St Pierre has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

St Pierre stops Sardiini from standing up.

St Pierre postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sardiini is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of St Pierre, into his guard.

St Pierre had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sardiini defends it easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sardiini has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sardiini loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Keijo Sardiini will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

St Pierre drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sardiini looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sardiini looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sardiini!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

St Pierre misses with a takedown
and Sardiini counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. St Pierre is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Jorge St Pierre has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Sardiini has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
