Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tj Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tj Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ricardo Brown!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws an off balance right hand
and Thomas counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Ricardo Brown has been cut.

Brown throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brown is in Thomas's guard.
Thomas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Thomas is trying to control the position but Brown postures up.
Brown won't allow Thomas to sweep him here.
Thomas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Brown throws and elbow that misses. Thomas uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brown's guard. Nice move by Thomas!

Brown working for a triangle but Thomas defends it easily.

Brown throws his legs up looking for a submission but Thomas uses it to pass to side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Brown's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Brown is looking for a sweep.
Brown can't do much from the bottom here.
Brown gets back to half guard.
Brown is pressing down on Thomas's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Brown is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Thomas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brown is proving hard to escape from.

Brown has his foot on Thomas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thomas works his way back into a safe position though.
Thomas tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.
Thomas wants to stand but Brown is controlling his posture from full guard.

Brown throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Thomas escapes and throws Brown's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Brown is trying to control Thomas's posture but Thomas avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brown is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Thomas is staying active.
Brown is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Brown parries the strikes from Thomas easily there. Thomas is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Brown to escape.
Brown dodges the ground and pound from Thomas.
Thomas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brown keeps working.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brown can do anything to dispel that myth.
You can see the frustration on Brown's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Brown regains half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brown is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Thomas's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Thomas's back!
Thomas is keeping busy.
Brown punches the canvas rather than the man.
Brown wants to control but Thomas is keeping busy.
Brown throwing strikes and Thomas squirms under the pressure, ending up mounted.

Brown jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Thomas manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Sloppy strikes there by Brown.
An elbow from Brown crashes against the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tj Thomas dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ricardo Brown's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Brown ducks under a wild hook from Thomas.
Brown tries to clinch up but Thomas circles away and keeps his distance.
Brown misses with a left hand
and Thomas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Brown with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Thomas to score with a decent uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Brown does a little dance to reset his feet.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Thomas checks a leg kick.
Thomas lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Brown needs to keep his hands up - Thomas had a free shot at his head there.
Thomas scores with a jab. Brown acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Brown shoots in looking for a takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl out of it but Brown keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Thomas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Thomas lands a nice hook to Brown's body. Brown takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brown's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Thomas connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Brown scrambles back to his feet.
Thomas is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brown.
Thomas lands a right hook to the body.
Brown is breathing heavily.
Thomas scores with the left hand. Brown knows he should have avoided that one.
Thomas's corner calls for a 1-2. Thomas obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice body punch from Thomas.
Tj Thomas is winning the standup battle so far.
Thomas lands with a cross.
Thomas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Brown takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Thomas changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Oooooh!!! Thomas has knocked Brown down with a huge combo! Thomas steps away and waves a wobbly Brown back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Brown is rocked!
Thomas lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Brown head around and knocks him out cold! Thomas hops onto the ropes and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tj Thomas!
