Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hakuin Ekaku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Crippler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ekaku comes to the cage accompanied by IV. Hakuin Ekaku has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hakuin Ekaku! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Crippler! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ekaku connects with a right hand. Crippler shakes it off. Crippler thows a leg kick but Ekaku checks it and Ekaku counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Crippler thinking. Ekaku thows a leg kick but Crippler checks it and Crippler counters with a nice body shot. A low kick from Ekaku is predictable there and Crippler counters with a low kick, right behind Ekaku 's knee. Crippler throws out a leg kick but Ekaku moves out of range and Crippler only half commits. Ekaku swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Ekaku moves into range and connects with a jab. Ekaku shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Crippler's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ekaku trying to control the position from guard on top but Crippler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Crippler is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Ekaku engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Ekaku trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
We're going to have a standup here because Hakuin Ekaku wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Crippler is looking to slow Ekaku down with leg kicks. Ekaku cracks the inside of Crippler's front leg. Crippler fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ekaku is out of range. Ekaku rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Crippler counters with a low kick, right behind Ekaku 's knee. Joe Crippler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ekaku tests Crippler's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ekaku looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crippler working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ekaku. Ekaku throwing strikes from guard but Crippler blocks nicely. Ekaku stops Crippler from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ekaku trying to control the position from guard on top but Crippler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Crippler keeping full guard, as Ekaku tries to pass. Ekaku might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ekaku gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Crippler counters with a big head kick but Ekaku shrugs it off. Crippler throws a sloppy head kick and Ekaku moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ekaku tries for a takedown but Crippler circles away easily and Crippler counters with a body kick that stops Ekaku in his tracks momentarily. Ekaku scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Crippler. Ekaku shrugs it off though. Ekaku throws a combination that misses and Crippler counters with a leg kick.

Hakuin Ekaku is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A low kick from Crippler misses and Ekaku counters with an inside leg kick. A low kick from Crippler is predictable there enabling Ekaku to counter with a crisp jab. Ekaku avoids the head kick by Crippler.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crippler is looking to land body kicks. Crippler's corner calls for a 1-2. Crippler obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Ekaku misses with a right hand and Crippler counters with a thumping low kick. Crippler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Nice defenses there by Crippler. Ekaku throws a body punch but Crippler moves out of range. Crippler throws a right hand that misses
and Ekaku counters with a good low kick that Crippler was not able to check. Ekaku shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Crippler's guard. Ekaku content to stall in guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crippler is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ekaku is controlling him. Ekaku is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ekaku lands with an uppercut that bounces Crippler off the cage and back into rage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Joe Crippler will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Ekaku's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ekaku closes the distance and clinches up with Crippler, looking for a takedown. Ekaku pushes Crippler against the cage but Crippler circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ekaku misses with a left hand and Crippler counters with a left to the body. Ekaku throws a lazy head kick and Crippler counters by clinching up. Crippler missing with knees to the body.

Crippler defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ekaku. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hakuin Ekaku. That's going to take a lot out of him. Crippler jabs Ekaku to the body, keeping him at a distance. Ekaku throws a leg kick and Crippler counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crippler keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ekaku walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Ekaku moves out of range of the body kick. Crippler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ekaku manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Crippler is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Ekaku rather than just go for the knockout. Ekaku shoots in but no luck this time. Crippler wants to clinch. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Crippler, right into the meat.

Ekaku is trying to control the action in half guard but Crippler is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Ekaku takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Ekaku is looking to advance position but Crippler won't allow it. Crippler wants to get back to his feet.

Oh, that's bad for Crippler! Crippler is desperately trying to improve his position but Ekaku has a good base and remains in mount. Ekaku sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Ekaku postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Crippler looks a forlorn figure.
Crippler is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Crippler is squirming around, avoiding Ekaku's attempts to control the action. Ekaku avoids the attempt from Crippler to control. Ekaku goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Crippler turns into him and now he's in Ekaku's guard.
Crippler decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ekaku, up you get!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hakuin Ekaku. I think Ekaku has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
