Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Harris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Erik Jones! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick by Jones misses and Harris counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jones won't be happy with that. Harris tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jones's legs. Harris taking a break here but Jones is having none of it and regains half guard. Harris is trying to control the action in half guard but Jones is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Jones is trying to maintain the position but Harris is very close to passing his half guard. Harris wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it. Harris is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jones has managed to free his arm - good work. Jones missing with punches from the bottom.

Harris moves nicely into side control. Jones is not content to let Harris control the position. Harris thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Harris decides to take the fight back to the feet. Jones throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Paul Harris has been cut. Jones shoots and misses and Harris counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Harris. Harris works a leg free and moves into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Harris is trying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Harris is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Harris is figuring out what he wants to do next. Harris stops Jones from getting back to his feet.
Harris is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones pushes Harris off looking to stand but Harris dives back in and keeps control.

Harris takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Harris wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it. Jones trying to control here.
Jones makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Jones looks gassed! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Harris scores with a takedown into Jones's guard. Harris wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones tries to clinch up and Harris counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard. Jones looking to control.
Harris drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Harris jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jones keeping moving, preventing Harris from controlling successfully. Harris thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jones wants to stand up but Harris is controlling him. Harris drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Harris off! Harris jumps back into Jones's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is looking to stand up but Harris isn't so interested in that idea. Jones keeping moving, preventing Harris from controlling successfully. Harris not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Harris is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Harris trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Harris avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harris wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones keeping full guard, as Harris tries to pass. Harris passes Jones's left leg - he's now in half guard. Harris trying to pass the guard but Jones defending well. Harris is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris is stalling here. Jones is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Harris seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jones has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Jones trying to control the position but Harris is working away. Jones goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Harris rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jones's guard! Nice work there by Harris! Jones working a defensive guard here.
Jones is pulling down on Harris's head to control his posture. Harris controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Harris might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Harris working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jones's head. Harris wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position. Harris wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Harris gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones is breathing heavily. Harris showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Harris trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Harris tries to advance to mount but can't. Harris is trying to get an arm triangle but Jones is defending well. Jones is looking to regain half guard here but Harris keeps moving and retains side control. Harris stands up and beckons Jones to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Harris lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jones! Jones tries to hold on but Harris pushes him away. Harris with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Harris dominating with strikes here. This has been an exciting period of action! Harris looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jones wants to hold on but Harris pushes him away. Harris unloads with some shots from mount but Jones bucks and avoids them well.

Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Harris tries to control but Jones wriggling away. Harris looking to secure an arm triangle but Jones defends it well. Jones regains half guard. Harris is pressing down on Jones's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jones is holding on for now.

And that's the end of the fight! Paul Harris showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Harris, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
