The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerjalainen throws a solid leg kick but Mercer takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kerjalainen.
Mercer throws a lazy uppercut
and Kerjalainen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Kerjalainen throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Mercer misses with an uppercut
and Kerjalainen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kerjalainen fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mercer checks it well.
A head kick from Kerjalainen lands but Mercer takes it in his stride.
It looks like Vic Mercer has been cut.
Kerjalainen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Mercer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kerjalainen.
Kerjalainen lands with a good body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mercer on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Mercer is breathing heavily.
Mercer throws a right hand that misses
and Kerjalainen counters with an inside leg kick.
Kerjalainen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Vic Mercer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circle, before Kerjalainen throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Mercer's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Kerjalainen lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
