The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Costa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

De Costa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

De Costa lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for John!

De Costa has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of John's face.

De Costa loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have John scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from De Costa land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. De Costa stands and salutes the crowd.
