Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Baz Baldwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Buck Bradshaw! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bradshaw takes one to the side of the head.
Baldwin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Jab by Baldwin. Baldwin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Baldwin. Bradshaw blocks a head kick by Baldwin.
Bradshaw walks into a straight right hand from Baldwin. Baldwin lands with a hook. Bradshaw tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Baldwin looks to land a combination but Bradshaw avoids it well. Baldwin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bradshaw fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Baldwin has hold of one of Bradshaw's legs. Bradshaw is fighting the takedown attempt but Baldwin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Baldwin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bradshaw manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Baldwin manages to get himself to full guard.
Bradshaw stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baldwin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bradshaw loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baldwin has momentary wrist control but Bradshaw slips an elbow through the middle. Bradshaw tries to free his leg and advance position but Baldwin is retaining full guard. Bradshaw is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Baldwin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Baldwin keeping moving, preventing Bradshaw from controlling successfully. Bradshaw trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Baldwin scores with a jab. Bradshaw acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Baldwin lands with a thumping leg kick.
Baldwin fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Bradshaw. Baldwin lands with an uppercut that bounces Bradshaw off the cage and back into rage. Bradshaw takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Bradshaw takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. An inside leg kick lands from Baldwin. Bradshaw avoids the head kick by Baldwin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Baldwin plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Bradshaw is rocked! Baldwin takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Bradshaw is still on wobbly legs! Can Baldwin finish him? Baldwin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Good leg kick by Baldwin there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
No joy there for Baldwin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Baldwin throws a leg kick which misses Bradshaw's front leg but catches the back leg as Bradshaw tries to avoid it. Bradshaw drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Baldwin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Baldwin lands with a right that hurts Bradshaw. Bradshaw looks to clinch but Baldwin throws a short knee that drops Bradshaw. This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Baz Baldwin!
