Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tero Taikina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taikina comes to the cage accompanied by Cookie song. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taikina wants to clinch up but Hughes keeps it at a distance.

and Taikina counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Taikina controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hughes throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tero Taikina.

Taikina shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hughes's guard.

and Taikina counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hughes won't be happy with that.
Tero Taikina has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Hughes.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Hughes is in close to Taikina's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Taikina has his foot on Hughes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hughes works his way back into a safe position though.

You can see the frustration on Taikina's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hughes is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Taikina will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Taikina has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hughes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hughes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taikina. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Matt Hughes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
