Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Kellman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kellman's entrance music is Murmaider. A fine choice. Sherk has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Kellman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matt Sherk! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sherk fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Sherk looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! A head kick misses from Kellman. Kellman stuffs the takedown attempt from Sherk. Sherk gets slowly back to his feet. Kellman moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Sherk showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kellman.
Kellman goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Kellman throws a head kick that misses. Sherk avoids the head kick by Kellman.
Sherk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kellman.
Matt Sherk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sherk closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kellman circles away. Daniel Kellman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Sherk. No joy there for Kellman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Kellman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Sherk tries to clinch but Kellman moves away and Kellman moves into the clinch. Kellman keeps control of Sherk as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Kellman breaks from the clinch.

Kellman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Sherk fails with the takedown. Kellman pushes Sherk up against the cage in a clinch. Sherk drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kellman pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kellman throws out a powerful jab. Sherk shoots in but Kellman avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kellman lands a jab-cross combination. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kellman lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Sherk backs up against the cage.
Kellman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Kellman dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Kellman scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Sherk fails with the takedown and Kellman finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Kellman throws a head kick but Sherk moves out of range.
Sherk shoots in looking for a takedown. Kellman tries to sprawl out of it but Sherk keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kellman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sherk throws a right hand that Kellman ducks under and follows up with a left that Kellman also avoids with ease. Good standup being displayed there by Kellman as he connects with a hook. Daniel Kellman is winning the standup battle so far. Kellman cracks the inside of Sherk's front leg. Kellman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sherk tries to clinch up and Kellman counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Kellman fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sherk looks to throw a body kick and Kellman counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sherk is lucky that one didn't land flush. Kellman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sherk closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sherk lands in his opponent's guard. Kellman kicks Sherk off and gets to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Kellman gets caught flat footed, as Sherk shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kellman pushes Sherk off and gets back to his feet.

and Kellman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Daniel Kellman showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kellman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
