Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nataniel Byczynski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peter Piper! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piper avoids a punch combination nicely.
A clash of legs there as Piper blocks the low kick. Piper throws a leg kick and Byczynski counters with a nice leg kick. Byczynski turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Byczynski misses with a looping right. Piper fails with the takedown and Byczynski counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Peter Piper has been cut. Piper fails to land the takedown. Piper has his takedown stuffed and Byczynski counters with a nice body kick. Nataniel Byczynski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Piper. Piper looks gassed! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Byczynski throws a right and a left that both miss. Piper takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Peter Piper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Piper on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Byczynski dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Piper. That did some damage!
That's one minute gone in the round. Piper slips a straight right by Byczynski. Piper gets off balance looking for a body kick and Piper takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Piper avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Piper staying out of range there. Byczynski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Piper manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Byczynski tries to clinch there but Piper circles away.
Piper is trying desperately to land a takedown but Byczynski is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Piper. Byczynski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Piper looks to throw a body kick and Byczynski counters with a stiff right hand. Byczynski moves in looking to clinch but Piper pushes him off. Byczynski is looking to clinch but Piper is avoiding it.
Piper moves out of range of the leg kick from Byczynski. Byczynski lands with an uppercut that bounces Piper off the cage and back into rage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Byczynski clobbers Piper with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Byczynski slips a jab and a cross from Piper.
A jab from Byczynski misses. Byczynski throws the kick towards the body but Piper avoids it. No luck for Piper with that takedown attempt. Byczynski displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Piper. A head kick misses from Byczynski. Piper clinches with his opponent.

Peter Piper has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Byczynski connects with a single shot there. Nataniel Byczynski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Piper shoots in and gets a takedown into Byczynski's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Byczynski being controlled here, momentarily. Byczynski wants to stand and escape but Piper is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nataniel Byczynski dominated that round. The cut man is working on Peter Piper's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Byczynski misses with a right hand and Piper counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Piper scoring with strikes to the body and head. Piper is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Byczynski defends it well. Piper seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Byczynski does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Byczynski is defending against the submission attempts here by Piper.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Byczynski is staying active underneath Piper, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Piper is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

He's now in Piper's guard. Nice move by Byczynski! Byczynski wants to get up but he can't break Piper's closed guard. Byczynski stands up from Piper's guard - Byczynski perhaps looking for a knockout. Piper throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Piper shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Piper moves nicely into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The ground and pound from Piper seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Piper stands up and beckons Byczynski to his feet. Byczynski tries to clinch but Piper is having none of it. Piper slips a jab from Byczynski. Piper lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Byczynski circles away quickly and effectively. Nataniel Byczynski is winning the standup battle so far. Piper moves out of range of the body kick from Byczynski.

Piper thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Byczynski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Piper on the ground. Piper gets to his feet. Byczynski looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Piper clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Piper is working for takedown but Byczynski is calmly controlling the position for now. Nataniel Byczynski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Piper. Piper avoiding damage as Byczynski throws knees to the body.

Piper is struggling to control the position. Piper tries to pull guard but Byczynski holds him up against the cage and eventually Piper drops back down to his feet.

Peter Piper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Peter Piper's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

and Piper counters with a left to the body. Byczynski thows a body shot but no joy. Piper throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Piper moves into the clinch successfully.

Piper rushes Byczynski and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Piper wants a takedown but no success here.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Piper on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Byczynski is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Piper is keeping busy. Piper is trying to maintain a safe position but Byczynski gets an underhook and turns Piper into the cage.

Byczynski crunches a lovely knee into Piper's ribcage. Piper wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Piper pulls guard successfully.
Piper manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Piper is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Byczynski to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Byczynski shrugs it off. Byczynski blocking the ground and pound. Byczynski trying desperately to get to his feet.
