The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gotovina darts in trying to clinch
and Vogts counters with a stiff right hand.
Gotovina looks to clinch
and Vogts counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Vogts gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Vogts looking for a takedown.
Vogts is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gotovina pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Gotovina pushes off an throws an elbow but Vogts leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Vogts pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Vogts counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gotovina parries the strikes from Vogts easily there. Vogts is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Gotovina to escape.

Paul Vogts has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

and Vogts counters with a nice low kick that buckles Gotovina's knee momentarily.

Vogts has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gotovina uses from the top position.

Vogts shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gotovina's guard.

Vogts lands a big head kick that sends Gotovina tumbling to the mat! Vogts takes a step backwards and waves Gotovina back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Ante Gotovina has been cut.
Vogts fails to land with a series of punches.
Vogts rushes Gotovina and presses him up against the cage.

Vogts pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Vogts thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gotovina if he has to take too many more of those.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Gotovina enables Vogts to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gotovina manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Vogts is looking to work some ground and pound but Gotovina has wrist control.

Vogts is pushing down on Gotovina's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gotovina is fighting to maintain full guard but Vogts has managed to sneak the leg through.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

and Vogts counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Vogts stands and steps away. Gotovina gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Vogts counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Vogts looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vogts wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Vogts has Gotovina up against the cage in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gotovina is breathing heavily.
Vogts jumps guard but Gotovina stands there with Vogts around his waist. Vogts gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Paul Vogts is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gotovina closes the distance but Vogts moves to the side
and Vogts counters with a big head kick but Gotovina shrugs it off.
Vogts tries to bum rush Gotovina with a series of wild strikes but Gotovina uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vogts lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Paul Vogts is winning the standup battle so far.
Gotovina tries to clinch up
and Vogts counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vogts thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gotovina's head.

Vogts gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Vogts.
Vogts throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Gotovina's head.
Gotovina tries to keep at a distance but Vogts has taken the fight into the clinch.
Vogts's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Vogts counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Vogts counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vogts.

Vogts putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Gotovina in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Vogts. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vogts drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vogts is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gotovina gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Gotovina just misses with a elbow thrown towards Vogts's brow.
Vogts is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gotovina can do to turn this around?

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vogts manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Vogts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gotovina walks away with a smile on his face. Vogts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Vogts counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gotovina won't be happy with that.
Vogts tries to advance to mount but Gotovina denies him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Vogts in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Gotovina is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
