Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Flipper Gill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cory Markiewicz!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gill with a jab.
Gill ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Markiewicz moves away.
Markiewicz swings widly with a right hand

and Gill counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Markiewicz's guard now.
Gill tries to free his leg and advance position but Markiewicz is retaining full guard.
Markiewicz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Markiewicz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gill.
Markiewicz is looking to stand up but Gill isn't so interested in that idea.

Gill postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Markiewicz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gill, into his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gill is trying to control the position but Markiewicz postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Markiewicz is looking to stand up but Gill won't let him.
Gill bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Markiewicz's guard.
Gill loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Gill throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Markiewicz wants to stand and escape but Gill is having none of it.
Gill scoring with punches to the head and body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gill trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gill landing with the ground and pound.
Gill won't allow Markiewicz to get back to his feet.
Gill throwing strikes from guard but Markiewicz blocks nicely.
Gill is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Gill is looking to work some ground and pound but Markiewicz has wrist control.
Gill is stalling in the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gill pushes down on Markiewicz's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gill thows a huge punch but Markiewicz dodges it nicely.
Gill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Markiewicz wants to get back to full guard.

Gill has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Markiewicz defend it? Gill steps over the head and cranks it - Markiewicz is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gill!
