Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Brashears (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Carl Morton has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Carl Morton seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carl Morton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Brashears! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morton darts in trying to clinch and Brashears counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Morton closes the distance looking to clinch and Brashears connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Morton tries to clinch up and Brashears connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Brashears shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Morton pinned against the cage. Morton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Morton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Morton leaves Brashears with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Morton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brashears paws at him with a jab and circles away. Brashears looks for a takedown but Morton sprawls well. The fight stays on the outside here - Morton looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Brashears shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Morton is looking to regain full guard. Brashears is trying to control the action in half guard but Morton is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Morton is controlling Brashears's position as best he can from this difficult position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Brashears is trying to work for a kimura but Morton is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Morton has control of Brashears's left arm, preventing Brashears from doing any damage. Morton wants to stand and escape but Brashears is having none of it. Brashears is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Morton is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Morton has escaped and now he's on top! Brashears is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Morton is not content to let Brashears control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Morton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Brashears is stalling in the full guard. Brashears has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Brashears sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Morton's guard. Brashears lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brashears prevents Morton from standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Brashears stops Morton from getting back to his feet.
Brashears lands with a punch from half guard. Brashears throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Brashears winds up and cracks Morton with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Brashears with the ground and pound but Morton uses the opportunity to regain guard. Brashears looking to sit in guard and control but Morton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Brashears is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Brashears sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Morton defending well though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Brashears showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Morton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Morton keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Brashears's efforts to push away. Morton pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carl Morton. I think Brashears has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
