Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jon E Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Glen Traks! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Walker lands in his opponent's guard. Walker is in close to Traks's body, working some short punches and elbows. Walker postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Traks working for a triangle but Walker defends it easily.
Walker wants to pass the guard but Traks is keeping the position. Walker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Traks looking for a guillotine here but Walker defends easily.
Walker with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Walker stands up from guard. Let's bang! Traks closes the distance looking to clinch so Walker counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Traks looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Walker lands a couple of decent looking shots. Walker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Walker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Walker landing with the ground and pound. Walker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Traks's head. Walker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Traks throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Traks is looking for a triangle but Walker pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Traks looks gassed! Walker cracks Traks with a solid left hand. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Traks has momentary wrist control but Walker slips an elbow through the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Traks has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Walker is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Traks. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walker working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Walker tries to move into full mount but can't pass Traks's legs. Walker taking a breather here. Walker decides to stand back up. Walker drops Traks with a nice combination! Walker dives into Traks's guard, looking to finish!
Traks is rocked!
It looks like Glen Traks has been cut. Walker stands and throws Traks's legs to the side, diving into side control. Traks is still in real trouble! Can Walker finish him? Walker is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Traks looks calm but he's in trouble here. Walker gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Traks is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Walker lets go of the hold and Traks can pop his arm back in it's socket.
