Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mamedh Rusol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdul Salsalani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abdul Salsalani is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mamedh Rusol! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abdul Salsalani! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A looping hook to the body misses from Salsalani. Rusol does a little dance to reset his feet. Salsalani throws a combination that misses letting Rusol counter with a right hand. Salsalani throws a head kick that misses and Rusol counters with a straight right hand. Salsalani throws a poor cross that misses
and Rusol counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rusol ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Salsalani moves away. Salsalani scores with a hook to the body. Rusol takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Salsalani misses with a body shot.
Rusol doesn't succeed with the takedown and Salsalani counters with a flying knee. Nice. Rusol misses with a body punch
and Salsalani counters with a two punch combo. Rusol throws a leg kick and Salsalani counters with a left to the body. Rusol avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Salsalani connects with a single shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salsalani tries to bum rush Rusol with a series of wild strikes but Rusol uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Rusol throws a nice looking combination but Salsalani bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Rusol tries to clinch but fails miserably and Salsalani counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Salsalani fails to land the takedown. Rusol slips a jab and a cross from Salsalani.
Salsalani throws a jab but it's blocked by Rusol. Rusol clinches up with Salsalani and pushes him back against the cage. Rusol lands a nice shot to the body. Salsalani is fighting off a takedown attempt but Rusol is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Salsalani to the mat. Salsalani regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Rusol is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Salsalani controls Rusol momentarily but Rusol frees himself. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rusol's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Rusol pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Salsalani is keeping the position for now. Salsalani utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Rusol preventing the sweep. Salsalani looks gassed!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mamedh Rusol. Salsalani misses with a body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rusol shoots in and bounces Salsalani off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Rusol pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Salsalani is keeping the position for now. Rusol is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Salsalani keeps the fight on the outside. Rusol tries a head kick but it misses.
Rusol darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Rusol scores with a head kick. Salsalani tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Salsalani shoots in but Rusol avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rusol closes the distance and clinches. Salsalani is breathing heavily. Rusol breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rusol is looking to land body kicks. Salsalani throws a lazy head kick so Rusol counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rusol pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Salsalani is keeping the position for now. Salsalani is working an open guard so Rusol takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Rusol throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Salsalani's waist but Salsalani gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rusol off to one side. Rusol moves in looking to clinch but Salsalani pushes him off. Rusol feints and as Salsalani raises his hands in defense, Rusol changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rusol is stalling in the full guard. Rusol decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Salsalani, up you get! Salsalani is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Rusol rather than just go for the knockout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rusol shoots in looking for a takedown. Salsalani tries to sprawl out of it but Rusol keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Salsalani manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Salsalani uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rusol. Rusol closes the distance looking to clinch and Salsalani counters with a straight right hand. Rusol misses with a takedown attempt - Salsalani sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mamedh Rusol. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rusol fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Salsalani sprawls well initially but Rusol persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rusol is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Rusol wants to pass the guard but Salsalani is defending well. Rusol is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Salsalani sees it coming and defends easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rusol thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Salsalani is looking to improve his position.
Still in half guard, Rusol seems content to control. Rusol gets to his feet - back to striking we go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mamedh Rusol dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Nice takedown defense from Salsalani. No joy for Rusol on that attempt. Rusol misses with a combination
and Salsalani counters with a lovely straight right hand! Rusol darts in trying to clinch and Salsalani counters with a stiff right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salsalani gets tackled into the cage by Rusol. Rusol maintains the clinch. Rusol working hard to break the clinch. Salsalani tries to pull guard but Rusol holds him up against the cage and eventually Salsalani drops back down to his feet.
Salsalani wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Salsalani takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rusol gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Rusol really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Ground and pound from Rusol. Rusol keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Mamedh Rusol overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Salsalani is trying to maintain the position but Rusol is very close to passing his half guard. Rusol lands with a punch from half guard. Rusol seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rusol not landing any meaningful shots this time. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Salsalani tries to get to full guard but Rusol has control of the leg. Rusol throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Rusol is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mamedh Rusol just wasn't active enough. Rusol shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Salsalani is trying to defend but Rusol finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Rusol content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Salsalani blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rusol. Abdul Salsalani has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rusol is figuring out what he wants to do next. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rusol lands a nice short elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rusol is trying to work for a kimura but Salsalani is defending well.

And that's the end of the fight! Mamedh Rusol showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rusol, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
