Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vamp Yre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norton Wawatai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Norton Wawatai has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Vamp Yre's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wawatai wants to land a leg kick but Yre is out of range. Yre looks to clinch and Wawatai counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Yre shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Yre showed some decent athleticism there. Yre seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wawatai does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Yre is really struggling to control Wawatai but he's trying to hold on to the position. Yre thows a huge punch but Wawatai dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wawatai keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Vamp Yre wasn't doing enough on the ground. Wawatai lands with a good body shot. Wawatai tries a head kick but it misses.
Yre tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Yre takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Yre darts in trying to clinch and Wawatai connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yre darts in trying to clinch and Wawatai counters with a nice leg kick. Yre closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Wawatai quickly recovers to half guard. Yre looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Yre in particular looking to stall. Wawatai is trying to stand back up but Yre is controlling him
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yre trying to control from half guard but Wawatai is working away. Yre tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wawatai knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Yre is looking to pass Wawatai's guard but actually Wawatai recovers to full guard. Yre looking to sit in guard and control but Wawatai gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wawatai decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Yre tries to clinch but Wawatai moves away and Wawatai counters with a good low kick that Yre was not able to check. Yre misses with a few strikes there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Norton Wawatai will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Yre fails to land with a series of punches.
Yre misses with a takedown attempt and Wawatai counters with a low kick, right behind Yre 's knee. Yre wants to clinch but Wawatai slips to the side and Wawatai counters with a thumping low kick. Wawatai throws a leg kick that misses. Yre avoids the head kick by Wawatai.
Yre tries to clinch up and Wawatai counters with a big head kick but Yre shrugs it off. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Yre darts in trying to clinch and Wawatai counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wawatai circles away from the clinch attempt and Wawatai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Yre closes the distance looking to clinch and Wawatai counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Yre is lucky that one didn't land flush. Yre lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wawatai circles away quickly and effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yre closes the distance but Wawatai moves to the side and Wawatai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Yre doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Yre doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wawatai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Vamp Yre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wawatai ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Wawatai misses with the combination.
Yre takes a body punch but keeps moving. Norton Wawatai seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab from Wawatai does it's job there. A shot to the body from Yre misses and Wawatai counters with a head kick that drops Yre!
Yre is rocked! Wawatai gets to his feet. Yre looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Oh Yre is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Wawatai lands a nice leg kick that just misses Yre's sensitive parts. Yre seems to have got his legs back now. Wawatai throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Yre with a lazy takedown attempt and Wawatai counters with an outside leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vamp Yre. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wawatai throws a head kick that misses. Yre keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yre bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Yre tries to clinch but Wawatai moves away and Wawatai counters with a nice body kick. Yre on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Wawatai thuds his shin into the meat of Yre's side. Wawatai pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wawatai throws a head kick but Yre moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Yre misses with a takedown and Wawatai counters with a stiff right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Norton Wawatai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Yre checks a leg kick nicely. Yre tries for a takedown but Wawatai circles away easily and Wawatai counters with a big head kick but Yre shrugs it off. Yre with a lazy takedown attempt and Wawatai counters with a flying knee that drops Yre! Yre controls Wawatai momentarily but Wawatai frees himself. Wawatai decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Yre, up you get! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Yre takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yre doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wawatai counters with a lovely straight right hand! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vamp Yre. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wawatai comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wawatai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wawatai looks for the body kick but Yre saw that one coming. Wawatai lands a brutal head kick. Yre looks out on his feet and Wawatai throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
