The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hill throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Richmond IV tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hill is in Richmond IV's guard. Richmond IV is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hill is controlling him. Hill postures up.
Hill drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hill jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Richmond IV keeping full guard, as Hill tries to pass.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Richard Richmond IV just wasn't active enough. Richmond IV lands a body shot.
Richmond IV doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hill counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Richmond IV might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Richmond IV moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Richmond IV is really struggling to control Hill but he's trying to hold on to the position. Richmond IV is looking to stand up but Hill isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bergmann Hill dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Richard Richmond IV. Richmond IV fails in his attempt to clinch. Hill gets the takedown into side control. Hill is breathing heavily. Hill goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Richmond IV has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hill but great work by Richmond IV. Richmond IV lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hill down.

Richmond IV looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hill with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Richmond IV is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hill!
