PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Chris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tomasz Gracie told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Chris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tomasz Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie gets caught napping as Chris dives in and scores a takedown. Gracie manages to retain guard.
Chris with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Chris thows a big elbow that misses.
Chris makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Chris postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Chris postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Gracie keeping full guard, as Chris tries to pass.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Chris's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chris works over Gracie with some ground and pound from guard.
Chris working some strikes from top position.
Chris in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Gracie looks gassed!

Gracie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Chris lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Chris stands up over Gracie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Gracie is rocked!

Gracie has momentary wrist control but Chris slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Chris is looking to stand up but Gracie won't let him.
Chris postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Chris landing some decent shots from guard.
Chris with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Gracie controls Chris momentarily but Chris frees himself.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Chris from controlling successfully.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Chris content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Chris lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Chris postures up and lands a big shot to Gracie's brow.
Chris advances position into side control!
Chris trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Gracie tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chris is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gracie can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Chris in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Gracie in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Gracie is still in real trouble! Can Chris finish him?
Chris unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Gracie wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Chris celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
