7 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anderson Sebastiao Cardoso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Avtandil Gamsakhurdia! The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gamsakhurdia shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Cardoso is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gamsakhurdia wants to take a breather but Cardoso is having none of it. Gamsakhurdia perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Cardoso is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gamsakhurdia pulls his head out easily. Cardoso looking for submissions off his back. Cardoso tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Gamsakhurdia has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Gamsakhurdia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cardoso is looking to get to half guard. Cardoso is squirming around, avoiding Gamsakhurdia's attempts to control the action. Cardoso is wriggling around trying to escape.
Cardoso is working hard here to advance position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gamsakhurdia controlling from the full mount. Cardoso is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Gamsakhurdia working away from the top, dropping strikes. Gamsakhurdia prevents Cardoso from getting the reversal. Gamsakhurdia takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Gamsakhurdia lands a nice shot to the head. Cardoso tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gamsakhurdia sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Gamsakhurdia is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Cardoso is surviving well by controlling Gamsakhurdia's body position as best he can. Cardoso is looking to improve his position but Gamsakhurdia isn't that keen on the idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gamsakhurdia looking for a sweep. Not yet Gamsakhurdia, not yet. Cardoso missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gamsakhurdia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Cardoso loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gamsakhurdia wants to stand up but Cardoso is controlling him. Gamsakhurdia trying to keep a closed guard but Cardoso is proving a slippery customer.
Cardoso throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gamsakhurdia works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gamsakhurdia is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Avtandil Gamsakhurdia was stalling too much, according to the referee. Gamsakhurdia closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gamsakhurdia. Cardoso is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gamsakhurdia off and has taken his back! Cardoso is punishing Gamsakhurdia with strikes - can he finish him?! Gamsakhurdia covers up after that shot from Cardoso.
Gamsakhurdia is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Cardoso off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Cardoso throwing sloppy strikes. Cardoso struggling to land strikes to the head as Gamsakhurdia covers up. Gamsakhurdia manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Gamsakhurdia. Cardoso tries to free his leg and advance position but Gamsakhurdia is retaining full guard. Gamsakhurdia has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gamsakhurdia wants to sweep but no luck.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Gamsakhurdia has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Cardoso tries for a takedown but Gamsakhurdia circles away easily and Gamsakhurdia counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cardoso! Gamsakhurdia looking to control and managing it successfully.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Avtandil Gamsakhurdia hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Gamsakhurdia feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cardoso working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gamsakhurdia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gamsakhurdia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cardoso can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gamsakhurdia controls the pace.

Gamsakhurdia is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Cardoso throws his legs up looking for a submission but Gamsakhurdia uses it to pass to side control.

Avtandil Gamsakhurdia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Gamsakhurdia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cardoso swivels though and keeps the full guard. Gamsakhurdia controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Gamsakhurdia wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Cardoso forces his way into half guard. Gamsakhurdia is controlling Cardoso's position as best he can from this difficult position. Cardoso seems to be working for a kimura but Gamsakhurdia defends the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cardoso is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gamsakhurdia is aware though and is defending well. Gamsakhurdia is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cardoso throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Cardoso had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gamsakhurdia defends it easily. Cardoso looking for subs off his back but Gamsakhurdia has passed one foot through into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Avtandil Gamsakhurdia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Gamsakhurdia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
