The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weathers drops back, looking for a kneebar! Aldo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Aldo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Aldo!

Weathers is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Aldo is just riding it out for now. Weathers eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We're going to have a standup here because Demar Weathers wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Weathers tries to clinch but Aldo is having none of it.
Aldo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Weathers manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Aldo lands a head kick. Weathers smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Weathers ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aldo moves away.

Demar Weathers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Weathers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Aldo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Weathers has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I think Aldo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
