Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stan Otter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Thomas! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas shoots in and drives through. Otter sprawls well. Otter scores with a decent looking hook. Otter uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Thomas has time to react. Thomas drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. A jab from Otter misses. Thomas shoots in but Otter avoids the takedown attempt easily. Thomas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Thomas tries to clinch there but Otter circles away.
Thomas walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Otter throws a jab but it's blocked by Thomas. Otter jabbing away but nothing is landing. Otter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Otter tries to pass to full mount but Thomas defends it. Thomas is trying to maintain the position but Otter is very close to passing his half guard. Otter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Otter lands a nice short elbow. Thomas tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Otter has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Otter punishing his opponent with strikes. Thomas is trying to escape the mount.
Otter scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Otter looking to finish Thomas with some ground and pound. This is bad for Thomas! Otter postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Thomas looks a forlorn figure.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Otter with good strikes from the mount here! Thomas tries to hold on but Otter postures up. Thomas takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Otter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Thomas tries to hold on but Otter pushes him away. Otter raining down shots from the mount! Otter fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Otter is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Thomas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Thomas regains half guard. Thomas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Otter is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Otter is trying for a kimura here. Thomas looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Otter wins by kimura!
