Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Mckenny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Mckenny!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mckenny to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mckenny tries to free his leg and advance position but Aoki is retaining full guard.
Aoki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mckenny defends it easily.
Mckenny got a little sloppy there for a moment and Aoki has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mckenny has managed to get both his arms back between Aoki's legs - danger averted.
Mckenny wants to stand but Aoki is controlling his posture from full guard.

Aoki has his foot on Mckenny's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mckenny works his way back into a safe position though.
Mckenny wants to control from the top but Aoki keeps moving.

Mckenny not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Aoki has control of Mckenny's left arm, preventing Mckenny from doing any damage.
Mckenny has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mckenny closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Aoki to the mat! Aoki manages to get full guard.

Aoki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mckenny defends well.
Aoki is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mckenny stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aoki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mckenny drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mckenny jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Aoki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mckenny doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mckenny manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Aoki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mckenny!
Aoki throws some wild stikes that Mckenny manages to avoid easily.
Aoki wants to control the pace but Mckenny is squirming around nicely.
Mckenny is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Aoki is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Aoki extends the arm and Mckenny is forced to tap!
