Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Hofacker Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucky Wasabi! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wasabi blocks a head kick by Hofacker Jr.
Wasabi swings away with a body shot that misses
and Hofacker Jr counters with a good, hard body kick but Wasabi shrugs it off. Hofacker Jr connects with a jab. Wasabi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hofacker Jr scores with a shot to the body.
Wasabi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. A nice leg kick lands there from Hofacker Jr. Wasabi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hofacker Jr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Hofacker Jr moves out of range as Wasabi strikes. Hofacker Jr looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. A big left from Wasabi misses. Wasabi misses with a jab to the body
enabling Hofacker Jr to counter with a crisp jab. Good work by Wasabi as he checks the leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hofacker Jr scores with a kick to the body.
The crowd cheers as Hofacker Jr lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wasabi doesn't seem phased though. Wasabi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hofacker Jr counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Wasabi! Hofacker Jr working for a submission but Wasabi is keeping him at bay. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wasabi can do anything to dispel that myth. Hofacker Jr looking to secure an arm triangle but Wasabi defends it well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hofacker Jr landing strikes from the mount. Hofacker Jr has hold of Wasabi's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wasabi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hofacker Jr lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Hofacker Jr takes Wasabi's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Wasabi is in trouble.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hofacker Jr struggling to keep hold of the position.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Hofacker Jr trying to control. Wasabi covering up well and avoiding damage. Wasabi fending off the submission attempt from Hofacker Jr. Hofacker Jr is working for a rear naked choke. Wasabi is not defending it well and Hofacker Jr has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Wasabi refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Wasabi's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
