and Thomas counters with a left to the body.
Matthews fails with the takedown
and Matthews takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matthews jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thomas walks away with a smile on his face. Matthews gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dave Matthews. That's going to take a lot out of him.
