Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Navarro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy The Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Oscar Navarro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Randy The Ripper!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Ripper fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Navarro manages to avoid it.
The Ripper scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Navarro fails with a takedown attempt.
The Ripper misses with a low kick.
The Ripper rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Navarro counters with a single leg into guard. The Ripper didn't expect that.
Navarro working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of The Ripper's head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Navarro postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Navarro is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The Ripper is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The Ripper is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Navarro defends well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Navarro passes into half guard.
Navarro working over The Ripper with some ground and pound. The Ripper looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The Ripper is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The Ripper is defending against the submission attempts here by Navarro.
Navarro is trying to control. The Ripper wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Navarro is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The Ripper regains full guard. Nicely done.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Navarro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Navarro stands and throws The Ripper's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Navarro has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Navarro tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Navarro has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Navarro wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Ripper keeps working.

Navarro lands a nice forearm strike.

Navarro passes to full mount! That's big trouble for The Ripper!
Navarro lands with some vicious ground and pound - can The Ripper hang on?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Navarro has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of The Ripper's face.
Navarro lands a big shot there that rocks The Ripper but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Navarro looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Navarro looking to control but The Ripper is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oscar Navarro dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


The Ripper throws a leg kick that misses.
The Ripper throws a lazy uppercut
and Navarro connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The Ripper throws a poor cross that misses

and Navarro counters with a single leg into guard. The Ripper didn't expect that.
Navarro with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Navarro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The Ripper is looking for a triangle but Navarro pushes his legs off easily.
The Ripper trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Navarro throws a strike but The Ripper rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Navarro wants to sweep here but The Ripper controlling him for the moment.

Navarro working for a triangle but The Ripper defends it easily.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Navarro here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Navarro is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The Ripper trying to control the position from guard on top but Navarro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Navarro looking for a sweep. Not yet Navarro, not yet.
The Ripper is fighting to break Navarro's control of his arms but Navarro is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The Ripper wants to control from the top but Navarro keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Randy The Ripper hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
The Ripper fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The Ripper lands a leg kick that knocks Navarro off balance momentarily.
The Ripper looks to score with a jab to the body but Navarro is just out of range.
The Ripper pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

The Ripper cracks Navarro with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. The Ripper has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Navarro to stand back up!


It looks like Oscar Navarro has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The Ripper drops Navarro with a straight right hand, right on the button! The Ripper follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Randy The Ripper!
