The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dittrich throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dittrich fails to land with a series of punches.
Diaz connects with a body shot. Diaz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Dittrich is looking to regain half guard here but Diaz keeps moving and retains side control. Dittrich wants to control but Diaz postures up. Dittrich bucks up and tries to throw Diaz off but instead Diaz has got his back! Diaz has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Dittrich has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Dittrich tries to roll but Diaz sticks to his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dittrich manages to reverse the position and now he's in Diaz's guard. Nice work there by Dittrich.

Dittrich looking to sit in guard and control but Diaz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Diaz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dittrich, up you get! Dittrich rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Diaz moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Diaz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dittrich.

Olli Dittrich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Diaz clinches up with Dittrich and pushes him back against the cage. Dittrich breaks the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz closes the distance and clinches. Dittrich manages to break the clinch.

Diaz drives through with a takedown into guard. Dittrich is controlling Diaz's posture. Dittrich is looking to stand up but Diaz isn't so interested in that idea. Dittrich keeping full guard, as Diaz tries to pass. Dittrich knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Diaz preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz works a leg free and moves into half guard. Diaz looks gassed! Dittrich is looking to control Diaz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dittrich avoid being mounted? Dittrich wants to improve his position but Diaz is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Diaz is thwarting Dittrich's attempts to control the position. Dittrich really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nice defenses there by Diaz. Diaz avoids a punch combination nicely.
Diaz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Dittrich. Dittrich will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Dittrich looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Diaz needs to keep his hands up - Dittrich had a free shot at his head there. Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Dittrich fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Diaz to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Diaz looks to clinch but Dittrich throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Diaz taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
