PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Pfaller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gavin Gagnon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pfaller comes to the cage accompanied by Fear of the Dark - Iron Maiden. Gagnon has chosen Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pfaller feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gagnon's calf.
A clash of legs there as Gagnon blocks the low kick.
Pfaller takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Gagnon misses with a jab to the body
and Pfaller counters with a low kick, right behind Gagnon 's knee.
Gagnon closes the distance and clinches up with Pfaller, looking for a takedown. Gagnon pushes Pfaller against the cage but Pfaller circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gagnon shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pfaller pinned against the cage. Pfaller gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pfaller looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pfaller.

Pfaller lands a leg kick that knocks Gagnon off balance momentarily.
Gagnon digs a good body shot into Pfaller's ribs.

Pfaller tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gagnon swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Pfaller dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Gagnon. That did some damage!

Gagnon drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pfaller dives on top into guard.

Gagnon looks to score with a jab to the body but Pfaller is just out of range.
Pfaller takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Pfaller walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gagnon checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

That was a close round but I would say that Patrick Pfaller will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gagnon has gone for a leg lock! Pfaller slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gagnon's guard.

Gagnon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Pfaller really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gagnon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

It looks like Pfaller is going to stand back up.

Pfaller wants to pass the guard but Gagnon is defending well.

Pfaller will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
