Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Christian Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terence McKenna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terence McKenna is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Christian Alkofer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Terence McKenna! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Skip Squint.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alkofer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McKenna manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Alkofer sitting in guard, not really doing much. Alkofer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McKenna for as long as he can get away with.
 We're going to have a standup here because Christian Alkofer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. McKenna thuds a left hand into Alkofer's body. McKenna misses with a low kick.
Alkofer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McKenna has hold of Alkofer's hands but Alkofer slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. McKenna makes his way to full guard. A much better position for McKenna. Alkofer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Alkofer wants to pass the guard but McKenna is keeping the position. McKenna trying to control the position.

 The ref stands the fighters back up. Christian Alkofer wasn't doing enough on the ground. Alkofer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Alkofer blocks the body kick.
McKenna scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Alkofer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McKenna is trying to defend but Alkofer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Alkofer is taking a breather. McKenna says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. McKenna tries to roll over but Alkofer keeps him under control. Alkofer slows the pace down in half guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
 The ref stands the fighters back up because Christian Alkofer just wasn't active enough. McKenna displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alkofer.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. McKenna throws a low kick, looking for Alkofer's leg but Alkofer calmly moves out of range. McKenna lands the left hand. McKenna works over Alkofer's head and body with a nice combination. A nice leg kick lands there from McKenna. Terence McKenna is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Alkofer shoots in for a takedown but McKenna shows good takedown defense.
Alkofer scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Alkofer is breathing heavily. McKenna is looking for a sweep. Alkofer staying calm. McKenna pushes Alkofer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alkofer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Alkofer controls the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. McKenna is looking for a sweep. McKenna takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Alkofer controls the position. Alkofer scores with a couple of short elbows. Alkofer slows the pace down. McKenna tries to get back to half guard but can't. Alkofer moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. McKenna really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alkofer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McKenna misses with a body shot.
Alkofer looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Alkofer postures up in McKenna's guard and throws a big left but McKenna blocks it. Alkofer slips nicely into half guard. McKenna works his way to full guard. Good work. Alkofer stopping the sweep attempt from McKenna. McKenna is looking to stand up but Alkofer isn't so interested in that idea. Alkofer advances position into side control! Alkofer takes a little break here. McKenna wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Christian Alkofer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Alkofer is working McKenna over with some ground and pound from side control. McKenna manages to work his way to half guard, despite Alkofer's best efforts. McKenna is looking for a sweep. Alkofer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Alkofer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Alkofer is nestled in close to McKenna, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Nice strikes from Alkofer there. McKenna tries to kick Alkofer off but Alkofer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. McKenna is breathing heavily. Alkofer keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Alkofer lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. McKenna gets full guard. Alkofer passes McKenna's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Alkofer works his way into side control. Alkofer is working McKenna over with some ground and pound from side control. McKenna is being controlled here. McKenna takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Alkofer scores with a couple of short elbows. Alkofer scoring with punches and elbows. Alkofer cracks McKenna with an elbow. That is naaassty. McKenna taking punishment in the form of punches.
Alkofer controls the position. McKenna tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alkofer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. McKenna takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
McKenna is being controlled here. McKenna taking a bit of punishment here - Alkofer scoring with strikes. McKenna is looking to reverse the position. Alkofer happy to just control the position for now. McKenna tries to get back to half guard but can't.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Alkofer is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. McKenna tries to bench press Alkofer off him but Alkofer keeps the position. Alkofer lands a nice forearm strike. Alkofer working the ground and pound. Alkofer creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Alkofer staying calm. Alkofer lands a decent elbow from side control. McKenna tries to improve position but can't. The referee asks Alkofer politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Alkofer prefers to stall for the moment though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christian Alkofer dominated that second round. That's time! Alkofer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Alkofer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Alkofer with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Alkofer prevents McKenna from improving his position. Alkofer slows the pace down in half guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
 Christian Alkofer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. McKenna finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

McKenna takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Alkofer preventing the sweep. McKenna being controlled here, momentarily. Alkofer passes easily into side control. Nice work. McKenna seems a little lost for a moment, as Alkofer dominates the positioning. Alkofer scores with punches from side control. Alkofer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. McKenna struggling a bit here.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. McKenna gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alkofer works his way into side control. Alkofer landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Alkofer controlling the position. McKenna tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alkofer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. McKenna trying to remain calm as Alkofer controls from the top position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. McKenna gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Alkofer unloading with bombs! Alkofer tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. McKenna can't escape the position.
Alkofer controlling his opponent. Terence McKenna has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alkofer fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
 That's four minutes gone in the round. McKenna is wriggling around trying to escape.

 Christian Alkofer has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. McKenna scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Christian Alkofer showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Alkofer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
