And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Silva Dodo!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duran tries a head kick but it misses.

and Dodo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Duran tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dodo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Duran forces Dodo back against the cage and clinches.
Duran connects with a nasty looking knee right to Dodo's face.
Duran tries to land knees in the clinch but Dodo avoids the damage to the body.
Dodo blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Dodo is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Duran's half guard.

Dodo is stalling here. Duran is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dodo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Duran has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Duran has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Dodo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Duran throws a head kick that half lands.
Duran throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Duran throws a front kick that sends Dodo stumbling back into the cage.
Duran stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Duran wants it to stay on the feet.
Dodo looks gassed!
Duran feints and then cracks Dodo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dodo down.

Duran misses with a kick to the body

and Dodo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Duran on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Duran tries to get out of the position.
Duran manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Dodo tries to hold on but Duran pushes him away.

Duran fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dodo.
Duran lands a head kick. Dodo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dodo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Duran - the referee stops the clock and Dodo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Duran. Dodo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Duran lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
RenGo Duran is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Duran goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Duran here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Dodo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dodo trying to control the action but Duran is working from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dodo goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Duran rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Dodo's guard! Nice work there by Duran!

Duran gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dodo is breathing heavily.

Duran lands a front kick.
Duran has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Dodo keeps the fight on the outside.
Dodo shoots in but Duran avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Duran drives through and clinches with Dodo against the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Duran has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Duran manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dodo manages to get himself to full guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Duran looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Duran darts in and clinches Dodo up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
RenGo Duran showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Duran, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
