Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jack Spat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Weichanthal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Spat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Weichanthal! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spat checks a low kick from Weichanthal. Spat misses with a takedown and Weichanthal cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Spat with a poor takedown and Weichanthal connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A low kick from Weichanthal is predictable there and Spat counters with a two punch combo. Spat shoots in looking for a takedown. Weichanthal tries to sprawl out of it but Spat keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Weichanthal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Spat. That's going to take a lot out of him. Spat is trying hard to land a takedown here. Weichanthal sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Spat fails with a takedown attempt. Jack Spat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spat lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Weichanthal circles away quickly and effectively. Spat throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Weichanthal's waist but Weichanthal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spat off to one side. Spat shoots and misses and Weichanthal counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Weichanthal lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Jack Spat has been cut. Weichanthal scores a nice knee to the body.
Spat really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Spat is breathing heavily. Weichanthal lands an elbow just above Spat 's eye. Weichanthal wants the takedown. Spat is fighting it off but Weichanthal persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Spat's guard against the cage. Spat is working an open guard so Weichanthal takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Weichanthal scores with a decent looking hook. Spat takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Weichanthal moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Weichanthal throws a lazy head kick letting Spat counter with a right hand. Weichanthal throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Spat's head. Weichanthal throws a hook to the side of Spat's head but Spat sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Weichanthal lands a nice leg kick that just misses Spat's sensitive parts. A head kick misses from Weichanthal. Weichanthal throws a right and a left that both miss. Spat shoots in for a takedown but Weichanthal shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weichanthal throws a big shot that misses. Weichanthal throws a push kick but Spat slaps the foot to one side. Spat tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Weichanthal swivels and escapes. Weichanthal tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Weichanthal tries a low kick but Spat avoids it. Weichanthal lands a glancing blow to the side of Spat's head. Weichanthal gets a clinch. Spat tries to circle away but Weichanthal has him pinned against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weichanthal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Weichanthal moves into range and clinches up with Spat. Weichanthal lands an elbow just above Spat 's eye. Spat tries to circle away but Weichanthal has him pinned against the cage. Weichanthal throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Spat has had enough of the clinch but Weichanthal keeps him there for the moment. Weichanthal keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Spat's efforts to push away. Weichanthal has clasped his hands together around Spat's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Weichanthal working the ground and pound. Weichanthal tries to advance to mount but can't. Weichanthal is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Spat's shoulder. That is not cool. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Weichanthal dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jack Spat's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Weichanthal misses with a double jab
and Spat counters with a slapping leg kick. Spat fails with a takedown attempt. Spat misses with a wild body shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spat throws a series of punches but Weichanthal moves out of range. Spat gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Weichanthal counters with a flying knee. Nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Weichanthal tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Weichanthal stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Spat. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Spat has his takedown stuffed and Weichanthal counters with a body kick. Weichanthal thows a left - swing and a miss! John Weichanthal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Weichanthal connects with a leg kick. Spat looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Spat ducks under a wild hook from Weichanthal. Weichanthal throws a head kick that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Weichanthal as he jumps to the side. Spat on the wrong end of a nice jab. Spat avoids the body shot from Weichanthal.
Weichanthal fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Spat. Weichanthal bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Spat's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Weichanthal chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spat takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Weichanthal tries to clinch but Spat is having none of it. Weichanthal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spat paws at him with a jab and circles away. Spat swats away the attempt to clinch by Weichanthal. Weichanthal has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Spat takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Weichanthal lands a leg kick that knocks Spat off balance momentarily. Spat on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Weichanthal. Weichanthal obviously looking to wear him down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weichanthal connects with a solid leg kick. Spat gets tackled into the cage by Weichanthal. Weichanthal maintains the clinch. Weichanthal breaks the clinch.
Weichanthal moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Spat is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Spat takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Weichanthal forces Spat back against the cage and clinches. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Weichanthal lands an elbow inside. Weichanthal lands an elbow just above Spat 's eye.
Jack Spat's cut is getting worse. Weichanthal working Spat over with knees to the body. Weichanthal gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Weichanthal comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Weichanthal lands an elbow just above Spat 's eye. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Weichanthal takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Weichanthal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jack Spat's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Spat tries to keep at a distance but Weichanthal has taken the fight into the clinch. Weichanthal is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Spat can't break the clinch.
Weichanthal lands an elbow just above Spat 's eye. Spat has had enough of the clinch but Weichanthal keeps him there for the moment. Knees to the body from Weichanthal.
Weichanthal is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Spat can't fight it off and eventually Weichanthal manages to take the fight to the floor. Spat looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Weichanthal pushes down on Spat's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weichanthal prevents Spat from improving his position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Spat is in trouble now - Weichanthal has advanced to mount! Weichanthal controlling the pace for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jack Spat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Let's hope that Weichanthal has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Weichanthal's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. John Weichanthal is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
OK we're going to have a standup here. John Weichanthal hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Weichanthal chopping away at his opponent's legs.

And that's the end of the fight! John Weichanthal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Weichanthal has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
