The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lynch fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Coutinho, pushing him back against the cage.
Lynch goes for a takedown in the clinch but Coutinho prevents it.
Lynch tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lynch turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lynch manages to end up in side control.
Coutinho is trying to get back to half guard.
Lynch controlling the position.
Coutinho is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Lynch content to control rather than advance.
Lynch is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Coutinho has managed to free his arm - good work.

Lynch wants to work for an arm triangle but Coutinho is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coutinho has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lynch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lynch wants to pass the guard but Coutinho is keeping the position.
Lynch drops back looking for a leg! Coutinho is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Coutinho manages to kick Lynch off! Lynch jumps back into Coutinho's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lynch stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Coutinho swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Coutinho looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Coutinho shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lynch pinned against the cage. Lynch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lynch shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Lynch with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Lynch jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Coutinho manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Lynch goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Coutinho has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lynch but great work by Coutinho.

Lynch manages to work his way to half guard, despite Coutinho's best efforts.

Lynch moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Coutinho wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Lynch's closed guard. He's half up but Lynch has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Lynch pivots and extends the arm, Coutinho falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Lynch! Well done that man!
