PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Isamu Natsuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Burrhus Frederic Skinner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skinner is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Land of Confusion-Disturbed. Burrhus Frederic Skinner is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Isamu Natsuki!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Burrhus Frederic Skinner!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skinner on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Natsuki misses with a straight left.
Skinner tries to bum rush Natsuki with a series of wild strikes but Natsuki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Natsuki attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Natsuki misses with a wild combination.

Natsuki feints and as Skinner raises his hands in defense, Natsuki changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Natsuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Skinner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Skinner keeping full guard, as Natsuki tries to pass.
Skinner wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Skinner keeping moving, preventing Natsuki from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Isamu Natsuki.
Skinner dodges the punch combination from Natsuki.
Natsuki circles away from the clinch attempt

and Natsuki counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Skinner's guard now.
Natsuki advances to half guard.
Still in half guard, Natsuki seems content to control.

Skinner makes his way to full guard, as Natsuki worked for a kimura.

Natsuki throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Skinner works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Natsuki looking to pass the guard.
Natsuki works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Skinner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Skinner won't allow Natsuki to pass to mount.

Natsuki is controlling the pace.
Skinner is refusing to be controlled, as Natsuki sits in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Natsuki wants to free his trapped foot but Skinner is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Skinner has hold of Natsuki's hands but Natsuki slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Natsuki looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Natsuki thows a huge punch but Skinner dodges it nicely.
Natsuki looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Skinner with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Skinner on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Natsuki is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Natsuki lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Well, if Natsuki is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Isamu Natsuki dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Natsuki misses the jab.
Natsuki waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Skinner.
Skinner throws a sloppy head kick and Natsuki moves out of range easily.
Natsuki throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Skinner sees it coming and avoids it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Skinner looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Skinner is looking to clinch but Natsuki is avoiding it.
Skinner tries to clinch up but Natsuki circles away and keeps his distance.
Natsuki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Skinner moves away.
Natsuki misses with a takedown attempt - Skinner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Skinner fails with an attempt to clinch.
Isamu Natsuki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Natsuki throws a nice looking combination but Skinner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Skinner tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Natsuki counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Natsuki is controlling the pace.
Natsuki looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Natsuki looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Natsuki trying to pass the guard but Skinner defending well.
Natsuki lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Natsuki has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Natsuki wants to control but Skinner is keeping him busy.

Natsuki thows a huge punch but Skinner dodges it nicely.
Natsuki winds up and cracks Skinner with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Natsuki passes the guard and advances to mount!
Natsuki misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Skinner is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Skinner avoids a series of strikes thrown by Natsuki.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Natsuki controlling the position easily from mount.
Natsuki lands a big shot there that rocks Skinner but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Natsuki throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Natsuki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Skinner is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Natsuki is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Skinner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Skinner is still in real trouble! Can Natsuki finish him?
Skinner is breathing heavily.
Natsuki sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Skinner seems to have recovered his senses.
Natsuki postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Skinner looks a forlorn figure.
Isamu Natsuki overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Natsuki looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Skinner covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
