Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nate Great (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bam Bam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bam Bam is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nate Great! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bam Bam! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Great tries to sprawl but Bam drives through with a takedown into half guard. Great is trying to get back to full guard. Great misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Great wants to control but Bam is keeping busy and won't allow it. Great is holding on to half guard well. Great tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Great is trying to get back to full guard. Bam is working for a kimura but Great is defending it quite comfortably.

That's one minute gone in the round. Great is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Great regains full guard. Nicely done. Bam works a leg free and moves into half guard. Great moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Great throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Bam missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Great had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bam defends it easily. Bam engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Bam got a little sloppy there for a moment and Great has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bam has managed to get both his arms back between Great's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bam avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Great looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Bam moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bam controls Great momentarily but Great frees himself. Bam is pulling down on Great's head to control his posture. Bam is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Great wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bam keeps working. Great is trying to work for a kimura but Bam is defending well.

Bam looks to clinch and Great counters with a nice uppercut. Great closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Bam is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Great off and has taken his back! Bam trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
You can see the frustration on Great's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Bam looking for the choke but no joy. Great prevents Bam from getting a body triangle. Bam throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Bam trying to control. Great rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Great makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Great. Great trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Great throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Bam trying to control but Great is working from the bottom. Bam wants to pass the guard but Great is keeping the position. Bam drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bam jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Great is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Bam wants to control from the top but Great keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bam sitting in guard here, content to control. Bam postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Great is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bam, into his guard. Great throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bam works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bam looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That was a close second round but I would say that Nate Great will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Bam stands and throws Great's legs to the side, diving into side control. Great wants to control but Bam postures up. Bam tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Great is looking for a sweep. Bam wants to control but Great is keeping him busy. Bam Bam has got the better of the ground game so far. Bam decides to stand up, so the ref orders Great to his feet. Bam swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Great fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Great will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bam dives in and scores a takedown into Great's guard. Great has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bam is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Great. Bam is trying to get an arm triangle but Great is defending well. Bam has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Bam Bam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bam looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Great! Great is desperately trying to improve his position but Bam has a good base and remains in mount. Bam trying to control but Great is having none of it. Great defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bam. Bam prevents Great from getting the reversal. Great is working hard here to advance position.
And that's the end of the fight! Bam Bam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bam has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
