Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joel Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johny Blaze told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Blaze enables Savage to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Blaze manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Blaze looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Savage lands a couple of decent looking shots. Savage is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Savage makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Savage controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Savage scoring with some ground and pound. Blaze can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Savage controls the pace. Savage sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Blaze's guard. Savage is taking a breather. Blaze says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Savage lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Blaze is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Savage is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Blaze is hurt! He's hurt bad - Savage fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Blaze from any more punishment! Congratulations to Savage! Great finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joel Savage!
