Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Knowjuan Ken Veetme!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Veetme scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Pettis pushes Veetme off looking to stand but Veetme dives back in and keeps control.
Pettis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Veetme thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pettis's head.

Veetme tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Veetme has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Veetme lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Pettis down.
Veetme has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Pettis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Veetme on the ground.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Pettis gets caught flat footed, as Veetme shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Veetme is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Veetme stands and steps away. Pettis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Pettis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Pettis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Veetme is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Veetme turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Veetme manages to end up in side control.

Veetme is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pettis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pettis is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Pettis is looking to regain half guard here but Veetme keeps moving and retains side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Pettis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Veetme does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Veetme is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Pettis is pushing down on Veetme's leg trying to pass to half guard. Veetme is fighting to maintain full guard but Pettis has managed to sneak the leg through.

Knowjuan Ken Veetme showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Pettis fails in his attempt to clinch.
Veetme throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pettis's waist but Pettis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Veetme off to one side.

and Pettis counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Veetme's guard now.

Veetme has his foot on Pettis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pettis works his way back into a safe position though.

Pettis stands up and beckons Veetme to join him on the feet.
