Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rover Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Junior Silva could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rover Barnes's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Silva back to the cage. Barnes follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Barnes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Barnes moves into range and connects with a jab.
Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Barnes is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Silva stands up over Barnes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Barnes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Silva at a distance.

Silva takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Barnes tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Barnes to the ground. Barnes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Barnes circles away.

Barnes lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Let's hope that Barnes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Silva tries to move into range but Barnes moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Barnes feints a jab promting Silva to slip. Barnes then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Silva slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Barnes shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Silva eats them both and turns towards Barnes to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Jeez, Junior Silva's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Silva moves forwards but Barnes connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Barnes connects with a body shot that sends Silva's belly button to the back.
