Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Cavalera!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Coach!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cavalera misses with a body shot.

Cavalera closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cavalera is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Coach doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cavalera.

Cavalera is working for a submission of some sort.
Coach tries to get to full guard but Cavalera has control of the leg.
Cavalera wants to pass to mount but Coach is defending the position.

Cavalera missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Coach really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cavalera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cavalera uses his free foot to push down on Coach's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Coach.

Cavalera swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Coach is now in Cavalera's guard. A big mistake from Cavalera there, giving up the dominant position!

Coach must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Coach with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Cavalera is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Coach is in close to Cavalera's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Coach is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cavalera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cavalera has escaped and now he's on top!

Cavalera controls Coach momentarily but Coach frees himself.
Coach throws a strike but Cavalera rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Coach looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cavalera is one step ahead there.

Cavalera forces his way into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cavalera has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Cavalera looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cavalera throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Coach throws a poor cross that misses
letting Cavalera counter with a right hand.

Coach lands a nice shot that snaps Cavalera's head back.

Cavalera fails with an attempt to clinch.

Cavalera closes the distance and clinches up with Coach, looking for a takedown. Cavalera pushes Coach against the cage but Coach circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Cavalera drives through with a takedown into Coach's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Cavalera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cavalera drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Coach manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cavalera has Coach in his guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Coach lying in Cavalera's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Cavalera decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Coach taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Max Cavalera!
