PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dsi Stylus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luco Zade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Stylus might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nintendo. Luco Zade acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zade connects with a body shot.
Stylus with a poor takedown

and Zade counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Zade is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Zade not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Zade drops an elbow to the side of Stylus's head.
Zade sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Stylus defending well though.
Zade landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zade winds up and cracks Stylus with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Zade looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Zade is trying to work for a kimura but Stylus is defending well.

Stylus on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Zade keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Zade stands up out of the half guard.

Zade gets a double leg takedown into Stylus's guard.
Zade is in close to Stylus's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Stylus wants to sweep here but Zade controlling him for the moment.
Zade scoring with some ground and pound.
Stylus is breathing heavily.
Stylus being controlled here, momentarily.

Zade makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Zade stands up and waves to Stylus to follow him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stylus wants to clinch

so Zade counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Stylus is working an open guard so Zade takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Zade moves into the clinch.

Zade jumps guard.
Stylus will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Zade bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stylus's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Zade distracts Stylus with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Zade chips away with some ground and pound.
Zade lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Stylus is rocked!
Zade stands up over Stylus, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Oh Stylus is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Zade showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Zade is pushing down on Stylus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stylus is fighting to maintain full guard but Zade has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zade is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Stylus is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
