The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee throws a body punch but Hawk moves out of range. Lee scores a takedown into full mount! Hawk tries to hold on but Lee pushes him away. Hawk working to try and regain half guard.
Lee has hold of Hawk's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hawk manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hawk defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Lee. Lee is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hawk has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hawk! Lee working a defensive guard here.

Hawk slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Hawk is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lee is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Lee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hawk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hawk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hawk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hawk tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lee is in Hawk's guard. Hawk can't keep his opponent in guard - Lee advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Lee is looking for a kimura but Hawk is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lee to get the leverage. Hawk makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hawk. Lee passes easily into side control. Nice work. Lee advances nicely into full mount. Hawk is wriggling around trying to escape.

Hawk is controlling an arm, preventing Lee from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
