Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Kreg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Kreg has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tommy Gunn's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Gunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Kreg looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gunn throws a jab when Kreg was well out of range.

Kreg looking to score a takedown here. Gunn is defending well but Kreg drives through and ends up in Gunn's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kreg accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kreg is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Kreg pushing down on Gunn's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kreg lands with a punch from half guard.

Gunn is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kreg pulls his head out easily.
Gunn is not content to let Kreg control the position.

Kreg tries to free his leg and advance position but Gunn is retaining full guard.
Gunn has momentary wrist control but Kreg slips an elbow through the middle.

Gunn looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kreg has picked Gunn up and slammed him! Gunn can't keep hold of the triangle and Kreg manages to pass to side control!

Kreg tries to move to mount but Gunn blocks the move with his legs.

Kreg remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kreg is looking to take a break and control but Gunn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gunn is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kreg's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jon Kreg hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gunn throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Kreg counters with a single leg into guard. Gunn didn't expect that.
Kreg cracks Gunn with a solid left hand.

Gunn has his foot on Kreg's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kreg works his way back into a safe position though.

Gunn controls Kreg momentarily but Kreg frees himself.

Kreg seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Gunn throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Kreg counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kreg slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Gunn has his hands on Kreg's head, controlling the position.

Kreg engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Kreg was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Kreg changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gunn tries to avoid it but Kreg manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gunn to the ground. Gunn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Gunn tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kreg was well out of range. Poor timing from Gunn.

so Kreg counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Gunn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kreg is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kreg lands a couple of elbows.

Gunn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kreg can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kreg closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gunn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kreg.
Kreg shoots in looking for a takedown. Gunn tries to sprawl out of it but Kreg keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gunn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kreg drops back looking for a leg! Gunn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gunn manages to kick Kreg off! Kreg jumps back into Gunn's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kreg jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gunn is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gunn and Kreg has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

I've got Kreg winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
