Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Simon Standa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Dourado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcelo Dourado will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 44 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Standa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcelo Dourado!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Standa fails with a takedown attempt.
Standa loads up on a big right hand but Dourado slips the punch.
Dourado circles away from the clinch attempt
and Dourado counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Dourado pushes Standa away with a front kick.
No luck for Standa with that takedown attempt.
Standa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dourado's waist but Dourado gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Standa off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simon Standa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Standa wants to clinch
and Dourado counters with a head kick.
Good leg kick by Dourado there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Dourado connects with an inside leg kick.
Standa is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dourado moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Dourado fakes the leg kick and cracks Standa in the body.
Dourado lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Standa takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Dourado throws a front kick that sends Standa stumbling back into the cage.
Dourado is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dourado lands a high kick!
Standa is rocked!
Simon Standa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick by Dourado - that's a beauty! Standa is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Dourado can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
