Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sam Dickkinson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kenny Jones!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickkinson tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Dickkinson throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Jones lands a big shot that drops Dickkinson! Can he finish him?


Dickkinson is rocked!


It looks like Sam Dickkinson has been cut.

Dickkinson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Oh Dickkinson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Dickkinson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jones lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Jones works over Dickkinson with some ground and pound from guard.

Dickkinson is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.

Jones gets to his feet. Dickkinson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dickkinson seems to have got his legs back now.
Dickkinson throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Jones is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Nice elbow from Dickkinson.
Dickkinson pushes off an throws an elbow but Jones leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Dickkinson lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Jones blocks an elbow strike from Dickkinson.
Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dickkinson smiles and moves away.
Dickkinson stuffs the takedown.
Sam Dickkinson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenny Jones.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dickkinson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dickkinson is trying to improve his position.
Dickkinson is breathing heavily.
Dickkinson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Jones working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Jones tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Dickkinson is trying to improve his position.
Dickkinson gets back to half guard.
Jones prevents Dickkinson from improving his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dickkinson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Dickkinson keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Dickkinson has a closed guard, preventing Jones from standing up.
Dickkinson wants to sweep but no luck.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Dickkinson is retaining full guard.
Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Dickkinson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dickkinson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Jones blocks the elbow strike.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Dickkinson.

Jones decides to pull guard.

Jones working for a triangle but Dickkinson defends it easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jones is trying to control the position but Dickkinson postures up.

Dickkinson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jones is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dickkinson, into his guard.
Jones wants to stand but Dickkinson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jones postures up and lands a big shot to Dickkinson's brow.
Jones looking to pass the guard.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Dickkinson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Dickkinson pushes a forearm under Jones's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Jones is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sam Dickkinson!
