The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Batrudinov has his takedown stuffed and Great counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Great throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Batrudinov gets tackled into the cage by Great. Great maintains the clinch. Great has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Batrudinov is trying to keep an underhook but Great manages to get the takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Batrudinov trying to control from the bottom.

Great is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Batrudinov will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The fighters roll with the hold and Great manages to kick Batrudinov off! Batrudinov jumps back into Great's guard. Great trying to control the position.

Great tries to land a sweep but no joy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Great is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Batrudinov is controlling him. Great wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aleksei Great dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Great closes the distance and pushes Batrudinov back into the cage. Batrudinov can't get the takedown.
Batrudinov blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Great manages to break the clinch.
Great misses with a takedown attempt and Batrudinov counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Great is staying active underneath Batrudinov, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Batrudinov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Batrudinov seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Great does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Batrudinov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Batrudinov sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Great defending well though. Batrudinov wants to control but Great is keeping him busy. Great avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Batrudinov. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Great can do anything to dispel that myth. Batrudinov is working for a submission of some sort.
Batrudinov wants to take a breather but Great is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Batrudinov is really struggling to control Great but he's trying to hold on to the position. Great pushes Batrudinov off looking to stand but Batrudinov dives back in and keeps control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Timur Batrudinov just wasn't active enough. Batrudinov gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Great to score an easy takedown into full guard. Great working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Batrudinov's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Batrudinov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Great is aware though and is defending well. Batrudinov keeping moving, preventing Great from controlling successfully. Great landing some decent shots from guard. Batrudinov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Great trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Batrudinov pushes a forearm under Great's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Great is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
